A large-format (approximately 30×40 inches) wool tapestry woven in a weft-faced technique with solid olive green and natural cream wool, structured as three horizontal color fields of unequal width. The simplicity of the design is intentional — the quality of the wool surface and the slight natural irregularity of handweaving are the visual elements.

Construction Details

• Weft-faced wool tapestry — weft covers the cotton warp completely; the surface is 100% wool. The cotton warp provides structural tension but is invisible in the finished piece
• Three horizontal fields — 8 inches cream at top and bottom; 24 inches solid olive green in the center; the transitions between fields are straight horizontal lines, not soft gradients
• Olive green — acid dye on Merino wool weft — the Merino wool base (22 microns) takes acid dye with exceptional color depth and very low fading rates compared to cellulose fibers dyed with reactive dye
• Natural cream wool weft — undyed Merino — the cream component is the raw undyed Merino fiber; the contrast between dyed olive and undyed cream is slightly more subtle than a pure white would be, giving the piece a more natural, aged quality
• Copper tube hanging rod — a 32-inch copper tube (included) serves as the hanging rod; the warp loops are threaded onto the tube, which is suspended by an included leather cord. Copper will develop a natural patina over time.

Materials & Care

100% Merino wool weft, cotton warp (structural, not visible). Copper tube rod, leather hanging cord. Do not wash. Lightly brush with a soft clothes brush every few months to remove dust. Spot treat with a barely damp cloth and wool-safe soap if needed; allow to dry completely before rehanging. The olive green is an acid-fixed dye and will not bleed when lightly damp. Do not expose to direct sunlight for extended periods — prolonged UV exposure will gradually lighten the olive green component.
