CozysLooms Wool Kilim Rug Handwoven Geometric 5x7 – Durable Textured Design, Earth Tones

A 5×7-foot (60×84-inch) wool kilim rug with a stepped-diamond geometric repeat in earth tones (rust, camel, ivory, dark brown). The kilim tapestry technique used here is the same as our kilim cushion covers — each color zone uses its own shuttle, interlocked at color boundaries — but scaled to rug-weight wool yarn and a large four-shaft loom.

Construction Details

• Kilim tapestry weave, 4-color — rust, camel, ivory, and dark brown shuttles are interlocked at every color boundary; the stepped-diamond repeat is approximately 6×5 inches, with the rug containing approximately 10×16 complete repeats across its 5×7-foot face
• Rug-weight wool weft, 2/6 Nm — the weft yarn is significantly heavier than our throw blanket yarns; at this weight the rug has approximately 8 weft passes per inch, producing a cloth dense enough for foot traffic
• Cotton warp for stability — unlike our blankets (which use wool warp), this rug uses a tightly twisted cotton warp to prevent the elongation under foot traffic load that wool warp would develop over time
• Flat kilim construction — no pile — this is a flatweave rug, not a knotted pile rug; pile rugs shed fibers, compress under traffic, and require professional cleaning; a kilim wears more evenly and can be cleaned at home
• Bound cotton edge tape — all four edges finished with 1-inch natural cotton binding tape, machine-sewn and hand-tacked at corners for durability under furniture legs

Materials & Care

100% wool weft, cotton warp, cotton edge binding. Do NOT machine wash. Vacuum regularly without beater bar (beater bar can damage kilim weave structure). Rotate every 3–6 months. For spot cleaning: blot immediately with a clean dry cloth; for deeper stains, use a small amount of cold water with wool-safe detergent, work from the outside of the stain inward, then blot dry. For full cleaning: professional rug cleaning is recommended for this size. Allow to dry completely flat before replacing furniture.
