CozysLooms alpaca wool throw blanket – soft warm, Olive Green, 50x70 inches

Woven from 80% baby alpaca and 20% fine Merino wool — a blend chosen because pure alpaca has low elasticity and can lose its shape over time, while the Merino component adds enough natural spring to keep the cloth dimensionally stable. At 50×70 inches and under 1 kg, this is our warmest throw relative to its weight.

Why Baby Alpaca

• Fiber diameter: 18–22 microns — below the 25-micron threshold where most people perceive itch against bare skin; by contrast, standard wool ranges 25–35 microns. This blanket is suitable for people who find wool itchy.
• Hypoallergenic — alpaca fiber contains no lanolin (the protein responsible for most wool allergies); the 20% Merino component is ultra-fine grade (below 19 microns) and does not trigger lanolin sensitivity
• Natural moisture management — alpaca is hydrophobic at the fiber cuticle but absorbs up to 8% of its weight in moisture vapor without feeling damp; suitable for year-round use in variable indoor climates
• Olive green — acid dye on protein fiber — applied at 85°C with a gentle citric acid fixative; no heavy metal mordants used

Materials & Care

80% baby alpaca, 20% fine Merino wool. Dry clean recommended. Hand wash in cold water with a capful of wool/alpaca shampoo as an alternative; do not agitate or wring — gently press water through, then press out (never twist). Lay completely flat on a clean dry towel. Do not tumble dry. Do not hang — alpaca's low elasticity means it will stretch under its own weight when wet.
